Our Kiwanis club raises funds for three scholarships for Fort Madison students. One scholarship is for a senior at Holy Trinity High School, one scholarship is for a senior at Fort Madison High Schoool and one scholarship is for a senior Key Club member. In the past we have raised funds through selling peanuts in the fall and carnations in the spring. The past two years we have used a 50/50 raffle, primarily selling tickets at the downtown summer market to raise funds.
Key Club Sponsorships
Some of the Key Club students who helped with the UNICEF change drive at Fort Madison High School. The students were able to raise over $400 for UNICEF This year. Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF direct donations will go to Global Humanitarian Emergency Thematic Fund, which allows UNICEF to be agile in responding to hundreds of emergencies and complex humanitarian situations each year
Our Kiwanis club supports Key Club service projects, facilitate the Key Club meetings, and provide college scholarships for the Key Club students.
Ivanhoe Park Sponsor
Our Kiwanis club has adopted Ivanhoe park. We have hosted regular clean-up days to help minimize trash and spent time refreshing the flowers and decorative plants in the park. We also worked with a local disc golf group to install a 9 hole disc golf course in the park.
